Effects of Si solution in ?-Al13Fe4 on phase transformation between Fe-containing intermetallic compounds in Al alloys

چکیده

?-Al13Fe4 is one of the common Fe-containing intermetallic compounds (FIMCs) that forms during solidification in Al alloys. Silicon (Si) as impurity or solute alloys easily doped into ?-Al13Fe4, which not only causes compositional variation but also modifies lattice parameters, and some circumstances, changes crystal structure ?-Al13Fe4. In this study, multiple Al-Fe Al-Fe-Si solidified equilibrium non-equilibrium phase primary eutectic structures were designed investigated. Different types transformation among other FIMCs such ?’-Al8Fe2Si, ?-Al15(Fe,Mn)3Si2 ?-Al5FeSi investigated with scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission (TEM) single X-ray analysis. The composition parameters observed study measured by TEM orientation relationships between (?’-Al8Fe2Si, ?-Al5FeSi) determined selection sequence comparing diagram calculation casting experiments. configuration entropy was calculated to build up structural models. Finally, influence incorporation Si on discussed from crystallographic thermal stability perspectives.

Optimizaton of Mo-Si-B Intermetallic Alloys

Mo-Si-B intermetallics consisting of the phases Mo3Si and Mo5SiB2, and a molybdenum solid solution (“ -Mo”), have melting points on the order of 2000 °C. These alloys have potential as oxidationresistant ultra-high-temperature structural materials. They can be designed with microstructures containing either individual -Mo particles or a continuous -Mo phase. A compilation of existing data shows...

Phase Diagrams of Fe-Si Alloys under High Pressures

Introduction Iron is the most abundant element in the Earth’s core. However, the density of the outer core is about 10% lower than the density of iron at the pressure and temperature conditions of the outer core, indicating the presence of a low-atomic-weight component (such as H, C, O, Si, or S) in the core [1]. There is also evidence that the inner core may be less dense than pure iron and th...

Effect of Prestraining and Training on the γ→ Transformation in Fe-Mn-Si Alloys

The effect of training and predeformation on the martensitic transformation is investigated. It is concluded that Ms as a function of predeformation strain must have a maximum at around 3% strain. Prestrains less than 5% will enhance the martensitic transformation whereas larger prestrains depress it due to strain hardening of the y phase.

The influence of microchemistry on the recrystallization texture of cold-rolled Al-Mn-Fe-Si alloys

The recrystallization textures of a cold-rolled Al-Mn-Fe-Si model alloy with three different microchemistry states after non-isothermal annealing were studied. The microstructure and texture evolution have been characterized by EBSD. It is clearly demonstrated that the actual microchemistry state as determined by the homogenization procedure strongly influence the recrystallized grain size and ...
